Thanks for the tip Greg.  I had looked into that, but the adjoining floors are at 5’+ differential  (and sorry if I was not clear but I am combing two floors at the same time).  Trying to get both floors at that height difference creates other issues to work around with my kitchen and bathrooms.  I stumbled across a Sketchup Essentials tutorial that shows how to do multiple/simultaneous section cuts through grouping. This allows control width of the cut, and I should be able to do this at two different levels and achieve the desired result (of course outside of ConDoc).  This along with other ConDoc limitations/issues is becoming more frustrating and time consuming.
