Hello Sean! It is certainly possible to toggle options with very advanced layering. I wouldn’t recommend it.
You could save out the stair as a component, and just build different options of that one component. Then reload them on demand.
I like your idea, just make a copy of the whole model and relink to a new layout presentation.
