Showing/hiding dimensions in layout

When dimensioning in Layout sometimes the dimensions are ‘hidden’ behind the drawing, changing the order in the display settings (bring to front or back) does not address the problem. In plan view I worked around it by hiding the floor slab, but in section views I cannot hide the walls. What is the proper way to handle this situation?

Check your layers and make sure they’re stacked correctly.
