Hello ConDoc Members!
You may notice that things behind our site have switched! We now want to welcome to the new ConDoc 4 Pro Forum, the professional’s resource for learning SketchUp Pro and The ConDoc Tools. A few things to keep in mind as you start to poke around… This forum is moderated by Brightman Designs, but not all threads are answered by us. If you know the answer please don’t hesitate to help out a fellow designer. We always do our best to respond as soon as we can, but if you need your answer immediately try the 3D Helpline. There are a ton of classes and tutorials included in your ConDoc Pro subscription. Please watch them! If there are questions asked in the forum that are covered in the SketchUp for Professionals or the advanced tutorials, we may re-direct you there rather than making a new video or thread response. The entire Brightman Designs team is here to help you become the expert in ConDoc! We look forward to working with you!One last thing to note; within a few weeks we will no longer be supporting ConDoc v3 questions via the archived forum. You may ask anything you want to until we officially launch, but be aware that we’ll be switching over and we hope you get on board with ConDoc 4 as well. Let us know if you have any questions, we’re happy to help!
Sincerely, the ConDoc Team

September 12, 2018 at 11:49 pm #18335LukeParticipantHi there,
I installed ConDoc last week and have been looking through the manual and also taking the SUFP online class. The plugin looks great and I’m excited to use it on my current project, but I’m running into a problem. I constructed a simple model -203KB, I set up a perspective I like, select the ConDoc perspective tool, click on my model view and the “pick drawing for this scene” dialog box appears, I press exterior perspective, and Sketchup crashes. Every time. It’s also the only model I have open.
I’m working on a Macbook pro 16GB.
Please help.
Thanks,
Luke
September 13, 2018 at 12:26 am #18336Mike BrightmanKeymasterTry modifying the perpective drawing style using the configurator… Switch it to design style. The default presentation style is heavy with watermarks. That will fix it!
September 13, 2018 at 12:07 pm #18341LukeParticipantThat worked Mike, thanks so much!
September 13, 2018 at 12:35 pm #18342LukeParticipantSo Mike, If Sketchup crashes when I use the default setting (LINE DRAWING-Presentation) what can I do to alter that should I need that setting in the future? Also should I be setting the configurator to DESIGN throughout?
Thanks,
Luke
September 21, 2018 at 6:49 pm #18488LukeParticipantHi There,
I am taking the SUFP and am trying to create a scene with the ConDoc perspective tool. I did as Mike suggested and set the configurator’s Interior and exterior Perspective setting to “Design” and it worked on a simple model of my own without crashing, but with the perspective that you set up in SUFP 8.5 Master suite the model crashes. All the settings are as you have them in the class and the configurator is set to “Design” for both interior and exterior perspectives. What can I do to rectify this?
Thanks,
Luke
October 2, 2018 at 1:58 pm #18647Mike BrightmanKeymasterGood Morning Luke! Sorry for the delay, we were out in Palm Springs for SketchUp Basecamp. Is this issue persisting?
March 13, 2019 at 6:32 pm #22689JaniceParticipantI’ve just started using ConDoc 4; I’m halfway through a model and just noticed I’ve relocated the 3 buttons associated with Interior Floors, 02 Level to somewhere in the model. The Layers “tray of buttons” just shows a blank grey patch where the buttons should be. I’ve also relocated the Windows Exterior button. I’ve checked all the “Hide/Unhide” buttons, toggled the “rest of Model” on and off. Cutting and pasting in place doesn’t seem to work – unless I’m not pasting them in the right place.
So I’m not sure how to bring the buttons back to the tray. Any insights?
(BTW the new ConDocs is a dream to use; so much improved over version 3)
May 6, 2019 at 4:44 am #23556Lloyd BennettParticipantHi guys,
I am wondering if there is a set of metric scrapbooks and layout templates for CONDOC 4.5?
August 12, 2019 at 4:30 pm #25189AnonymousInactiveHello!
October 13, 2020 at 11:52 pm #27163[email protected]ParticipantHi, Just started using condoc and I’m having trouble with proj generator. The floorplan scenes all look the same and/or other sections/elevations are WAAAAAAY zoomed out so my model is a just a spec. Definitely not a time saver I was hoping for. What am I doing wrong?
October 14, 2020 at 12:06 am #27165Mike BrightmanKeymasterKeep in mind the ConDoc LT drawing set is loaded by default on a fresh install of ConDoc. ConDoc LT plans will snapshot the visible layers at the time of running the plan generator… or any ConDoc Tool.
All ConDoc Tools run a Zoom Extent, so if you have geometry spread out the view will capture everything. You can always zoom in and update your scenes after you run any of the ConDoc Tools.
January 6, 2022 at 8:32 pm #29857boomxpfactory-comParticipantHi and thanks for a very promising addition to my workflow.
I have just started my first Condoc project using the MOG components for two levels and cutting pasting exterior walls and floors as per tutorials .
I am noticing that the All o/off button utility in the condoc windo is having no effect on my model.
January 6, 2022 at 8:34 pm #29858Mike BrightmanKeymasterBe sure to load the “ConDoc PRO – Architect” drawing set. ConDoc LT doesn’t have all of our layers attached to it… Just click the folder icon on the ConDoc toolbar…
January 28, 2022 at 1:37 am #30218boomxpfactory-comParticipantHOPING FOR GUIDANCE HERE PLEASE
January 28, 2022 at 1:39 am #30219Mike BrightmanKeymasterYo BoomXP! Load the ConDoc PRO Architect Drawing set… Just click the folder icon on the ConDoc toolbar. ConDoc LT is loaded on a fresh install and doesn’t affect those layers. Let me know if that helps!

January 28, 2022 at 4:37 pm #30222boomxpfactory-comParticipantHi,
I have many large projects as interior/lighting designer. I have to produce traditional lighting plans etc.
I have buit Lighting components containing:
a. Enscape lighting source element ( for fully rendered walkthrough viz)
b. A 3D model of the light fitting
c. the 2D symbol for the fitting
My question s are
- Should I place the 2D symbol in the ‘Condoc 2D graphic’ tag
- Can I leave the 3d model light (b.) in my own layer
- I dont want to view the Enscape light source (a.) in plans or renders
I save a vesion of the 3D project to set up Enscape paths etc and also need to produce plans without the lighting on ocasion.
Your guidance/advice on my questions and workflow thoughts will be greatly appreciated ent to Andy
January 28, 2022 at 4:51 pm #30223Mike BrightmanKeymasterHello Andy!
You are 100% on the right track.
- Yes! This layer is for plan representation…
- You can, but you will need to add your own layer to the drawing set using the configurator. Otherwise ConDoc will shut your layer off for any scenes created. You could manually turn them back on and update your scenes… but if you want to do it right, use the Configurator.
- You might consider adding a “CONDOC_Enscape Lights” layer in the Configurator as a third option in the 2D Graphic /3D Object hierarchy. Then adjust the visibility for the viewports.
You got this! Let me know if that helps…
Mike
