I am working on my first full project in SketchUp / ConDoc and I’m using the new Model Organization Guide that I downloaded from the 3D warehouse. The Project I am working on is a new, 2 story house with a basement. I have two questions:
Would I use 3 separate Organization Guides, 1 for the basement level (Level_00), 1 for the first floor (Level_01) and one for the 2nd floor (Level_02)? I know I need at least two but I’m not sure about the basement Level.
Since my project is a new project, can I delete the CONDITION_Existing and CONDITION_Demolished groups since I wont be using them? This would simplify my Outliner Tree but I don’t want to screw anything up. At times I’m finding it easier to click into the groups using the Outliner rather than the Organization Guide.
Thanks and looking forward to downloading ConDoc 4.5
Using 3 separate organization guides for each level would be optimal. One thing you can do is copy the main component upward at the height of each floor (you can also scale it down as needed), and paste it into each level layer (running Plan Generator first will create your level layers).
You can definitely delete the layers you don’t need for simplicity, when you run the drawings export, it will skip over the layers that are not used or deleted.
Let us know if you have any 4.5 questions, cheers!
The model organization guides themselves will not effect the output of the scenes and drawings. This goes for deleting unused groups. Should you wish to use the model organization guides again, you can re-download them from the 3D warehouse, or create a local collection in the folder location of your preference and link to it inside of SketchUp.
