This is likely a dumb question, I am new to Condoc, and in Draft Mode I do not see the Condoc Draft Layers in “Tags”, all it is showing me is “Untagged”, “Condoc 3D” and “Condoc 2D”. I do see all of the Condoc Styles though. What am I missing? Thank you!!
Hello Colleen! Make sure you load up the ConDoc PRO Architect drawing set.
Truth be told, we are phasing out DRAFT mode. It was an okay solution until the scaled drawing feature was added to LayOut. I highly recommend drafting in LayOut using the scaled drawing command and ConDoc 2D and ConDoc Annotations scrapbooks. I have stopped using DRAFT mode.

Mike…could you elaborate on the “drafting in LayOut” comment. I never used the Draft Mode in ConDoc Tools, but have recently been playing around with wall sections in SketchUp and sending views to LayOut for annotating and dimensioning. The results are pretty good and I don’t need to do any additional line work or graphics. Thanks!

DRAFT mode is like 2D CAD buried in SketchUp. When active, the background is black, lines are shown in “color by layer”, and orbiting is restricted to 2D pan. So it feels a lot like 2D CAD! But… not as clean… or snappy… or something. It was okay a few years ago, but the scaled drawing command in LayOut is so much better.
I agree that you can pretty much get there by sectioning your SketchUp model. That’s definitely how I start a detailed wall section. Once you get it over in LayOut, you can explode the viewport to convert it into a scaled drawing. Now, you can double click into the scaled drawing and work on the wall section like CAD. So when you type in 4 1/2″, it’s based on the model space, not paper space. So I start with an general overall section, then explode into a scaled drawing, then add all the little details.
Check out the ConDoc 2D tutorials, I think those should have a lot of references to scaled drawings. Let me know if that clears things up!

Wow… I had no idea how to do that scaled drawing trick in LayOut. I saw the bounding box with the scale indicator in your ConDoc 2D scrapbook elements, but had no clue how that worked. Pretty cool! Learned something new today…
I will probably keep making wall sections in SU though. I like applying a style to the drawing to give it better graphics…line extensions, shading, etc.
