I have not found any information about the Detail Drawing Type.

    Have you sunset this feature?

It still appears as an option In the Drawing Properties/Drawing Type.

Thanks for your help and for creating a fantastic tool. I’ve been a fan for a while.

    Hey Timbo,

Yes, that got dropped. It was an autocad type drafting system within sketchup.  I usually do wall sections and details in LayOut using the scale drawing feature, but have been wanting to start building out my 3D detail library (the Nick Sonder method). I’ve even created stand alone wall sections in Sketchup just basically drafting them and using standard pattern textures as hatches. I mostly use LayOut as I’ve created pretty good Scrapbooks for this.

Thanks for the update, Greg. That’s one less feature to chase down.

I’m with you in creating details in Layout with the addition of crucial 3D wall sections in Sketchup.

I’m still feeling ConDocs out. I see the benefits, but I am cautious about the additional setup complexity and subscription commitment. Either way, I’ve learned much from what Mike and his team have created.

No problem…definitely a learning curve and some time to wrap your head around the concepts. I’ve fully customized condoc tools for my process and graphic style. I’ve found it to be worth it to automate the 2D portions of my work.

Timbo …… if you’re a production guy and you’re dong a lot of CD work then ConDocs is the way to go. I like Greg have customized many of my scene sets to get my output where I want it graphics wise. The out of the box scene sets work but weren’t exactly what I wanted or was used too. There really isn’t any setup. Install and use, no customizing necessary. The only setup is your actual project setup setting floor heights for the scene generator. Drawing details in layout is the way now. The old way thru ConDocs using the detail scene sets was a bit convoluted. As for subscription at $300 US per year it’s a steal IMHO. Hope this helps
