    Hey Mike,

I think I’ve brought this up as a pain point before, and I’m sure you have a workaround.  I mostly use condoc tools for the tag functions (and foundation plans, hoping to add stacked floor plan  views to my template in the near future) because I have a ton of viewports that I need to follow a dedicated template.

When I update my model in the document setup window of LayOut, often tags that are visible or hidden in SketchUp (with visible tags and hidden objects selected in the properties to save dialogue) are in the opposite condition in LayOut.  To get my tag states to show up correctly on every viewport in layout seems to take some kind of voodoo. Like, reload the Architect+ set, press condoc “scene update and save” button, click every single scene that I have in my model so that it loads up all of the geometry in the viewport and various tag states, then save via SU File>Save, then MAYBE the viewports will show the same information in Layout.

I am using the “ARCHITECT+” drawing set.  I used to think that this problem only came up after changing tags with the tag tool, but have recently been noticing the problem after as small of a change as moving or changing a component in the model.

I’m completely at a loss.  Are you seeing this problem anywhere else?  I’ll bring this up on SU forums as well, hopefully there is a patch or a reasonably easy workaround.  I’m losing hours on every tiny update to plans that have to be made, and don’t really know if this is a 26 issue (probably not entirely, as this was also happening in 25, but maybe additional complications), a condoc issue, or some combo of both.

I would share some screen grabs of this condition, but just went through the 90 min voodoo ritual and currently have matching viewports.  Hoping to export to PDF and never open this project again. In the meantime, any insight you have would be tremendous.

Joshua, it sounds like your problem is you’re trying to use a hybrid tagging system. ConDoc tags and Sketchup tags are not the same. Without ConDocs Sketchup can’t control ConDoc tags visibility regardless of tag setting in your scene. By default the ConDocs “ARCHITECT” drawing set turns off all tags not defined in the ConDocs drawing set. I think what’s happening is you’re manually setting some of the hide/visibility settings in your scene for your non ConDocs tags. Because the default setting for the “ARCHITECT” drawing set is set to “Hide tags not defined in the drawing set”, when you hit the update and save scene tool ConDocs sees your NON ConDoc tags for the scene and turns them off. This default behavior can be changed to “show tags not defined in drawing set”. click the settings button the ConDoc System tool bar, the ConDoc System Configurator will open, then click the settings button on the configurator and the ConDoc System Configuration menu will open. Select the drop down button from the “When creating scenes from this drawing set” and select the “Show tags not defined in the drawing set” option. Now make sure to save you’re way out of the menus you just opened. Your tag setting for you non ConDoc tags should now remain as you set them in the scene. If your nesting tags / components and/or groups make sure that your first tag is a tag that’s visible in the scene or everything tagged below it won’t display.

I guess my question is you have all these built in scene and tag management tools why not use them for all your exported views? Embrace the ConDoc tagging structure and increase your productivity instead of fighting two systems that really aren’t design to coexist.

If you’re still having issues after this contact me via email [email protected] and I’d be happy to take a 15 min look at your SKP and Layout files too see what I can see.  Best of luck and have a happy Thanksgiving
