The problem with dimensioning to finish is a field layout issue. Most of the guys framing these days can’t read plans and that means dimensions. Dimension to the face means someone has to do math in the field. If there math is wrong the wall layout will be as well. It’s just another place for errors in the filed. You have to do the thinking for these guys. If you’re counting no them to do the math it’s another point of error waiting to happen
