    Hello Condoc-Team,

thanks for the great tool (V5.1)!

    I have the following questions/problems:
    1. The Color by Layer style in the configurator appears to show only the tag color of Layer 0/untagged (e.g. black) in the scenes and not the tag colors of the Condition- or the Element-Tags. I mean, this is also the case in your example model in Milwaukee. What do I have to do. I would like to show the Renovation Plan with the TAG colors for Existing-, Demolished-, New-Conditions and/or in different TAG colors for different elements.

2.Is there an example model for a scope diagram for condoc tools 5.1. I can’t find the download files from the book. The Milwaukee model I found does not contain a scope diagram scene.

    I’m thankful for any help.

    King regards,

    Nicole

    Good Morning Nicole!
Unfortunately, the Scope Diagram is not possible with our new tagging system. We left it in there because some folks still use the old MOGs, and we might have a way to make this work in the future. The reason it doesn’t work is that the SketchUp tags, which have a color, aren’t actually applied to the geometry. The ConDoc tag is applied and then visibility controlled through the SketchUp tags dialog.
There was another shortfall with the Scope Diagram relating to the 2d Graphic/3d Object scenario. Since those tags/layers were last in line, often the doors and windows would just show up grey. So it was a little incomplete even in the beginning, but I still felt it was useful! I have it on our roadmap to get the scope diagram working all the way, even better than the default SketchUp behavior.
Here’s an idea… for a renovation project you could tweak your approach. Make sure that your 2d Graphic/3d Objects SketchUp tags are not applied, use the ConDoc Tags for and the geometry will be “untagged”. Then use the ConDoc Tags as usual… Except, for CONDITION. You will apply the CONDITION tags using the SketchUp entity info dialog. You can use these tagging systems together and I think this solves it!? I need to test…
You really don’t need to create the scene anymore, just use the ConDoc System to toggle through the different utility styles.
Let me know if that clears things up… thanks!

    Hello Mike,

thank you very much for your answer. Your idea of setting the condition tags via the Sketchup entity dialog actually works. Thanks. It’s just a bit awkward. Unfortunately it doesn’t work with flextools either. It would be much better if everything could be solved with the condoctags. Do you have this planned for the foreseeable future?

    Best regards

    Hello Nicole!
Keep in mind that you can retag the FlexTools objects with ConDoc tags. They will still work the same.
There might be a way to “select all with same tag” through groups, maybe selection toys extension? Then hit them all with the corresponding ConDoc tag and move to layer0/untagged.
I don’t think this is a problem that we can solve on our end. Let me know if that helps!

Hi Mike, thanks for your explanation, but why should I “select everyone with the same tag” and move the groups to level 0? Actually, my only point was that it would be easier for me if I could select the condition tags in the Condoc tags window and not in the Sketchup entity dialog. Now another problem has arisen: Visual Merge is not working. Is this because the condition tags selected in the entity dialog are not on layer 0? Did I not understand something? What do I have to do to make visual-merge work? I’m grateful for a message.

    Best regards.

    Nicole
