    Hi Mike,

Great lunch of ConDoc 5!!!  Wrapping up a project in ConDoc 4.

I would like to create a supplemental drawing set, not included in the Permit Set, that generally would show potential contractors and  client the general scope of the project using the utility scene color schemes.  My thought is to show 3D exterior perspective views showing existing/demo follow by 3D interior interior views for each level.   I would do the same views for the existing/new model (obviously they are generated form the same model) .

Any thoughts on how to create these scenes and move them to Layout???

    Thanks

    -Michael

    Thanks Michael!  Much appreciated!

Good news!  I think I have a fix that is even better than before…  I’ve only briefly tested this.

With ConDoc 5, all edges, surfaces, and groups/components should be set to “untagged” regarding SketchUp tags.  So walls that will be demolished will be grouped, have the untagged sketchup tag assigned, and have something like Level 01, Walls, Exterior, Demolished ConDoc Tags.  On top of this, assign the CONDITION_Demolished SketchUp tag.  This will allow the color by tag to kick in.

Heads up, the Color by Tag settings for a Scope diagram show the last assigned tag in the stack.  So if you are using the ConDoc door and window, you will need to go in and set all of those objects to “untagged”, then apply the ConDoc Tags for 2d graphic and 3d object.

Let me know how it goes!  I will probably be making a video about this soon!

    Hi Michael,

Thanks for your reply sounds great, however I have constructed the 3D model in ConDoc4 so what are the potential pitfalls updating to ConDoc5?   I have two Identical Models so I could test in one of those models so long as I could revert to the original model and use Condoc4.  The model is well organized (painfully working through the containers, containers, containers…) and just getting ready to send to layout.  I am excited to move to the updated version for this project yet apprehensive, lol need the old system as a safety net.

Is it easily possible to revert back to 4?? Any encouragement is appreciated lol.

    Whatever you do… Archive!

ConDoc 5 will still automate the SketchUp tags just the same as always.  So if your model is MOG’d, you could upgrade to ConDoc 5 and run the plans just the same.

If you are considering “un-MOG’ing” your model…  I find the best way is to drill into the group, cut all objects, then paste in place in a new file.  When they are pasted the objects will be selected and ready for ConDoc Tags.

    Archive first!

I de-MOG’ed a couple models by selecting the stack of MOGs and repeatedly exploding until I get down to the locked geometry. I unlock then explode a couple more times, then delete the MOG. This frees up the groups that were already nested way down deep. At that point, I went through and used the v5 tagging feature. Pretty quick without that last click-a-thon to cut and paste…
