    Hi,

Relative to the SU Workflow for Architecture 2nd Edition mantra “LEVEL > ELEMENT > LOCATION > CONDITION”, where does the Design Layer fit in? For example, ELEMENT_Floors vs. DESIGN – Floors?

The answer may be obvious–CondocTools newb.

    Thanks,

    Colin

    No problem at all, Colin!

“DESIGN” layers were used in ConDoc versions prior to ConDoc 4. They are one-in-the-same with “ELEMENT” layers in ConDoc 4 – 4.7. If you do see any “DESIGN” layers in your project, we recommend upgrading to the latest version of ConDoc (4.7) to make sure everything is current. You would still group and organize your content to “ELEMENT_Floors” instead of “DESIGN – Floors”.

One thing to note is that “DESIGN” layers will not work with new versions of ConDoc 4+; you would either need to convert the layers to CD4+ or finish out your project in the older version of ConDoc with your “DESIGN” layers. Does that make sense?

We’ve always encountered issues when both “DESIGN” and “ELEMENT” layers are present in a project. Let me know if you need any help. Thanks!

I see, thank you. I was working off a downloaded HOMEWORK file floor plan, (SUFP 8.0_Master Suite CAD.skp), which was generated in an older version of ConDoc. Now I’m back on track.

    Thanks again.
