Error When Exporting to Layout

When I am ready to export to layout, I receive the following message: “Warning: Running the ConDoc Export while the ConDoc Drawings Scrapbook is open in LayOut can cause LayOut to crash. It is recommended that you select a different scrapbook before proceeding.” Note that layout is closed and hence no scrapbook is open.

I am using iMac with latest operating system, Sketchup Pro 2018 and ConDoc 4.

Hello Bakr!  You can disregard this warning if LayOut is closed.  If you have LayOut open, and the ConDoc Drawings scrapbook open, and run the ConDoc Drawing export to overwrite the ConDoc Drawings Scrapbook…  it can cause a crash.  Try it!  if you don’t get a crash just disable the warning…  Let me know how it goes!

Hi, I have experienced similar problems when running on a Mac….switched to PC custom built CAD machine with a specific graphics card and NO ISSUES at all.

Thanks Mike and Jeffrey. I found our that Layout scrapbook should be always parked at any scrapbook other that ConDoc Drawings prior to Exporting even when Layout is closed, so that, when you open layout, ConDoc Drawings scrapbook is not the active one, then you select it and it should be fine. However if you Export and opened Layout and ConDoc Drawings Scrapbook was the active one, then Layout crashes.

So, always make sure that you select another scrapbook other than ConDoc Drawings before closing Layout.

‘I have been trying CONDOC V4 on a WINDOWS machine and a Mac. I noticed that on a Mac , the Scrapbook shows “ condoc document backup” whereas this is missing on the Windows machine after many exports to Layout. So it makes sense that the scrapbook should be closed  when when performing a new export.

I think this was what was causing my Mac to crash …thanks for the tip!
