Hi Guys,
After using Condoc4 for the first time, layout wont export the file.
“there was a problem exporting the file.” is the error message.
What do I do?
Thanks
Myles

Let us know if you are still receiving the error message and we can investigate other solutions.

The first ConDoc tools installed on my system is ConDoc 4. There is no any previous version even been installed.
The work around is to set the “output resolution” to the same setting as the one in the File/Document Setup/Paper/Rendering Resolution.
But, this work around only works up to “Median” resolution. I will get the “there was a problem exporting the file.” if “High” resolution is set.
Since only “Median” resolution can be export, the dashed lines look broken on the exported PDF file.
It’s really painful. I’ve not be able to use ConDoc 4 to publish any plan document yet.

October 2, 2018 at 2:26 pm #18649Mike BrightmanKeymasterHey guys! The export issue can’t possibly be a ConDoc issue… it is a native layout function that ConDoc doesn’t touch. I have heard a lot about this on other forums… and experienced it too. We found that the client’s logo was a weird image format, once saved down the export worked. Try saving a duplicate of your layout document into your temp folder. delete all image references out and purge… then try exporting a pdf. If this works, you will need to edit all of your images and save them back to a simple jpg or png. let me know how it goes!

This issue has come up again. Condoc 4 has been working great prior to this.
The problem is apartment when I resize the roof plan to create a site plan.
Is there another way to create the site plan?
Thanks
Myles

- Anyone having trouble with Layout export to PDF, should check your Sketchup file if there’s any dimension added inside of it. Seems like that was causing the problem for me.
- The other thing is something that bothers me, but isn’t necesarilly a huge issue: is it absolutely normal that all of the viewports need to be rendered again after the export? Or something is still messed up in my Sketchup/Layout file?
