This isn’t a ConDoc question. I am hoping someone knows how to control material scales in the group.

I am having trouble with the scale for materials in this model. For example the roof shingles don’t match between the major roofs and the dormer … and … the stone on the piers does not match the porch walls. How do I control this?

    Thanks

    Hello Glenn!  Try this…

    1. double click all the way into the roof
    2. select all of the edges and surfaces
    3. make them a group
    4. explode the group

    That should reset it…

This worked for the roof. So will it work if the column bases and porch / foundation walls are not in the same place in the model?

Or should I change the model so they are in the same place.

It should work!  You just need to drill all the way in to the edges and surfaces, make a group, then explode it.  Do this for each of the groups that has the wrong texture scale.

So why does this happen and why does this process fix what happens?

Here is the 3D model with materials fixed as you described. I am adding ground plan, some vegetation and shadows next. Thanks

    Looks great Glenn!  I’m impressed!

Regarding the cause and prevention…  hard to say.  Has something to do with creating a group, then scaling that group, the textures get scaled too…  I think you can right click on the textures and choose “reset” too…  But it’s easier to do the group/explode rather than try to reset all the different surfaces.
