ParticipantHi all,
Condoc tools crashes Sketchup Pro 2025 when exporting to Layout. Does not showup in Layout 2025 scrapbook. Legacy Export does not crash Sketchup, but it also does not showup in Layout scrapbook.
Anyone else having this issue or ideas?

KeymasterSorry to hear you are hitting some bumps in the road over there! I have not had any issues with ConDoc crashing SketchUp 2025, not to say that it isn’t possible! Usually it’s the “weight” of the file stressing hardware that causes issues. Can you share your model here and send me a note when its uploaded, https://workdrive.zohoexternal.com/external/anTTQ2LgatB-Kd8U0.
In the meantime, if the legacy export is working. Please know that it sends the drawings to the same year of LayOut. So if you are using SketchUp 2025, please confirm that you are looking in LayOut 2025 for the ConDoc Drawings scrapbook.
We will get it sorted!

ParticipantHi Mike,
Thanks for your response! File uploaded.
Confirmed, I am using Layout 2025. I see there is a Condoc 2D and Condoc Annotations tab in the scrapbook. But no “Condoc Drawings” in the scrapbook. Looks like Sketchup crashes in the process before it reaches Layout. Using ‘Legacy Mode’ it does not crash. But “Condoc Drawings” still doesn’t show up in Layout either.
Thanks!

KeymasterI will take a look at the file now… just to be sure. On a fresh install of SketchUp/LayOut 2025, there is no ConDoc Drawings scrapbook. So the very first time you run it, you will need to close LayOut, then open in order to see it. Can you try closing LayOut 2025, then reopen and see if it’s there…

KeymasterFirst try crashed for me too… So I sliced and diced into a lean model!
The following scenes had the new environments assigned to them…
- CD_Sketch Presentation Plan 01 – Hatch B
- CD_Color Elevation (Shadows) 01 – Foreground
- CD_Color Elevation (Shadows) 01 – Background
- aerial_1_render
- plan_1_render
- RESET_render
The new environments are pretty much worthless in my opinion. They are super heavy image files that look like $#!7! Although you probably didn’t notice because the environment settings were not showing them. In short, these super heavy 360 image files were bloating your file and crashing layout.
I set all of these scenes to “no environment”… purged. ConDoc Scene Update and Save. ConDoc Export. All good! File went from 150mb to 19mb. Steer clear of the new environments!
Also… Your furniture should have 2d graphics! Don’t ask LayOut to flatten detailed 3d objects.
The file is working for me now for the most part, definitely not crashing. It looks like you have a custom .condoc drawing set so the drawings aren’t right with a stock ARCHITECT export. I’m confident this will solve it! I will send over privately…

ParticipantHi Mike,
Thanks for your quick response!
You are right! I was wondering why my simple model was so large 100+mb – thanks for the note on purging the environments. Looks like your purged file is working as intended after closing layout and re-opening. I don’t think* (*grain of salt) I set a custom .condoc – I think I just added some new Element tags so I could customize visibility in certain scenes a little better. Probably not the right workflow.
For anyone reading this in the future, here are the steps:
1.) Set scenes to “no environment”. Purge model of environments.
2.) Open Layout 2025. Export to Layout via Condoc tools export function.
3.) Close and reopen Layout 2025.Thanks and best regards,
P
