ParticipantAlthough it seems invited to add custom tags to the included set of Condoc tags, I have been having trouble with this feature. The custom tags that I’ve tried adding seem to work for a bit, then a ways down the road they disappear from the ConDoc Tags window, although entities to which I’ve assigned that custom tag maintain that tag name in the Condoc System window even after I delete the associated tag in Sketchup. I can’t untag them as the deleted category, because that custom tag is no longer listed in my Condoc tags menu.
Does anyone know why this might be happening? Are custom Condoc tags meant to be model specific, or apply across the whole system? I’ve been playing around with creating such tags as “OPTION_Basic Scope,” “OPTION_Expanded Scope” and the like to manage visibility of entities related to certain design options within my process (meant for easy presenting to clients during conceptual phase, mainly), but with the disappearing yet not cleanly deletable custom tag issue this is causing more trouble than it’s worth. I wonder if I should just add tags for design options in Sketchup only and not within Condoc, although the perfectionist in me wants to resolve why custom tags are disappearing even if I shift away from using them.
TIA for any feedback on this!

KeymasterHello Amanda!
It’s definitely possible to add tags, but it can be a little tricky as you have found. I apologize for the lack of clarity, tutorials, and functionality. Will work on that! In the meantime, you can only add and remove tags that are included in the active drawing set. So in order to remove the tag, you may need to add it back in, select all, then untag.
I have a script that can remove all ConDoc Tags applied to a model. This might be faster than trying to untag.
Moving forward, it’s always best to work out your drawing set first, then start tagging. If you are adding tags on the fly be sure to get the naming right.
Feel free to set up a discovery call and we can discuss or just give me a shout. I will be back in the office tomorrow (tues). 7204433242

ParticipantThe tags coming and going is the function of the condoc drawingset. ConDocs tag data is stored in the condocs drawingset and is 100% independent of Sketchup Tags. So if you’re adding your tags thru the “Configurator” make sure you add it to all the condocs drawingsets you use and it will always be there. Hope this helps
