    Hi,

I am just learning to incorporate the Condoc System into my workflow.

Whenever I click the Design button, Sketchup bogs down for quite a few minutes. First the list of groups in the outiner flash for a bit, then the model screen goes black while the mouse cursor does the ‘swirly thinking circle’.  In the ConDoc System window it says (Not Responding).   After a few minutes it comes back on in what I assume is Design mode.

Not sure why this is happening

    Thx,

    Corey

Hello Corey! Let’s get to the bottom of this!  Could you answer a few questions…

    • mac or pc?
    • Computer specs?  if you know them…
    • is the model huge?  over 100mb?
    • are there any huge images in your model?

You are welcome to send the model over to me at [email protected].  I will have a look!  I am pretty quick at troubleshooting…

    Thanks!

    Mike

    • xps 15 9560, i7-7700HQ [email protected] GHz, 16 GB, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050
    • Not sure of the model size, but not big, and no images

I will send you my model to have a look.

Also, when I set-up my project through the plan generator it seems to set it up 4 times (4 sets of scenes)….?

Thanks for sharing the model Corey!  Looks super light-weight, so no issues there…  and your computer setup is perfect.

I did purge the model and the file size went from 27mb to 3mb.  Good stuff!

Can you try closing the outliner, then try the DESIGN button again?  Are you using a custom drawing set?

Awesome, closed the outliner and no prob.

I am not using a custom drawing set – just whatever is default.  I don’t actually understand what a ‘drawing set’ is…?

    Hello Corey!

Glad to hear it!  The Outliner is completely unnecessary and really slows things down.  It has to report in realtime every group you are clicking in and out of.  Much better if you close it.

A drawing set is how you customize ConDoc.  You can basically reprogram ConDoc to automate any layers, styles, or scenes.  This makes ConDoc flexible enough to automate any workflow for any industry.  Check out the tutorials page!  The ConDoc Configurator tutorials at the bottom explain…

    Thanks!

    Mike

Ahh,  I haven’t made it that far yet.

Thanks for your time and the prompt responses, I have a good feeling about this Condoc system!

    Cheers,

    Corey
