The exporter did not create the ConDoc Drawings.layout file in the /Library/Application Support/SketchUp 2023/LayOut/Scrapbooks folder.  Same result trying the legacy exporter

First test – SU didn’t crash but the drawings weren’t created in Layout scrapbooks.  I’ll try with the legacy exporter and see how that does

OK-I sent it to you via Dropbox Transfer.  Let me know if you don’t get it.  It seems particularly slow when resetting or when toggling the ALL ON, ALL OFF.  I’m curious – do you also have all of your geolocated site info in the same model?  A lot of times the house orientation on the site is off axes so it gets tricky with setting up scenes, etc.

Can you also try sending a drawing to Layout in SU 2023 and see if it crashes for you as well?  Do you think windows is a better platform for running Sketchup and Layout as long as you have a good processor?  I have a $6,000 Mac and Layout is painfully slow.  I’ve heard a few other places that windows machines are smoother but curious what your thoughts are on that as well.  Thanks Mike!

Hi Mike – thanks for the reply!  I can’t pinpoint exactly when the slow down happens or what is causing it yet – it just seems like everything is working decent for a while and then the model just slows down and there is a delay when tagging elements and a big delay when pushing the reset button.  I’ll let you know if there are other things I notice

Hey Mike – I didn’t realize you could create a shortcut.  That definitely helps but I don’t think it would hurt to add a button as well since it is used so frequently to make changes and adjustments – but maybe that is because I am still dialing everything in and once I get the workflow down I won’t be accessing it as much as I am now

Hi Mike – I updated to 5.0.2.6 and Sketchup 2023 is still crashing when exporting to Layout.

Thanks Mike – I tried renaming those scenes and renaming the drawing set but it still crashed.  When I was exporting before I was just trying to export the Foundation Plan, and those scenes didn’t have the : in the name.  It’s strange that the same model was exporting drawings to Layout fine in SU 2022 but when I started trying it out in 2023 it crashed.  I was just trying it in 23 because I like the custom rotation angle and sequence by page features.  I’ll email you the drawing set now.  Thanks!

Update – I think I got it to work by putting the actual lines on the 2D tag, not the 2D group in the component

Thanks Mike – I’m still not sure I understand, so is the dashes checkbox in the styles dialog always disabled for condoc tags even if it is checked?  I tried using one of my styles that has dashed lines checked and the 2D graphics for the windows still aren’t showing up dashed

Thanks Mike!  I had forgotten about needing to push that button instead of a standard save.  Also, just FYI – I have the “Notify me of follow-up replies via email” checked but I am not receiving those emails.  Thanks again for the help!
